Google’s parent company Alphabet has released its financial report for the first quarter of 2022. Speaking at the meeting where the results were evaluated, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the Pixel 6 was the “fastest-selling Pixel ever”. Pichai also said that new Android products and announcements will come at I/O 2022.
Pichai said, “Pixel 6 is a big step forward in the Pixel portfolio. We are very pleased with the interest it is receiving from Pixel users. We continue to increase consumer awareness at scale for the brand and have come a long way in doing so. We’re excited about the new products we’ll be announcing at I/O 2022. We’ll share more details at the event.”
The company will also announce new Android features and services at I/O 2022. The internet giant also released the first beta of Android 13. The lack of many exciting features in this release means Google is saving the real bombshells for I/O 2022.
The I/O 2022 launch event will take place on May 11. The company is expected to unveil the Pixel 6a smartwatch and Pixel Watch at the event.
