Sony has officially announced that Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for the PS5 will be available this week. The company also distributed the list of games that will receive VRR support in the coming weeks.
Japanese tech giant Sony announced this week that it will add support for PlayStation 5 Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). VRR synchronises the refresh rate of the screen with the frame rate of the game, making it more fluid. The feature will arrive on all PS5s worldwide by the end of the week.
After downloading the update, it will be automatically enabled in games that support variable refresh rate if the console is connected to a VRR-compatible TV or monitor via HDMI 2.1. VRR technology aims to take the gaming experience to the next level by minimising visual distortions such as dropped frames.
