Apple is expected to make the expected announcement for the next generation of MacBooks soon. The company could reportedly make another related announcement even if it doesn’t directly introduce new laptops during WWDC 2022 in June. MacBook Air model 2022 is one of the most curious options among these new laptops. An image showing the design of this device has leaked online.
In the new MacBook Air, Apple is said to ditch the current tapered design and switch to a wedge-shaped design. If this claim holds true, the MacBook Air design will be in line with some members of the MacBook Pro family.
Along with the MacBook Pro, Apple is said to be bringing some design elements from the 24-inch iMac to the new MacBook Air. Also among the rumors is that the new model, which is expected to be thinner and lighter than the current model, will weigh about 1.31 KG on the scale.
The 2022 MacBook Air model is expected to have a 13.6-inch mini-LED display. The laptop’s keyboard design is also said to be similar to the MacBook Pro. However, it is claimed that the fact that the keyboard is completely white and there is a space under each key will distinguish the two models from each other.
Apple’s unannounced M2 processor is expected to be at the heart of the new MacBook Air. It’s worth noting that the M2, which will offer improvements over the M1 in the current model, won’t be any more powerful than the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
The MacBook Air 2022 is expected to come with a USB-C port and a Thunderbolt port. There’s no clear indication of HDMI and SD card slots yet. Storage options are expected to expand up to 2TB and memory options up to 16GB. Battery life is said to be up to 20 hours.
A release date for the MacBook Air 2022 has not yet been announced. While it’s likely that the Cupertino-based company will introduce the laptop at WWDC 2022, there’s a strong possibility that the M2 will be announced at that event and the introduction of the new MacBook Air will be delayed until the fall.
