Vivo X Fold with foldable screen officially released. Many details about the foldable smartphone have been seen before thanks to official leaks and posts. The X Fold has a 6.53-inch external AMOLED display and an 8.03-inch internal AMOLED E5 display with LTPO3 technology. Both screens will have a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, and both will offer HDR10+ support. The main screen refresh rate will be able to drop to 1 Hz.

Ultra Thin glass made by Schott will protect the foldable screen. It’s worth noting that the Ultra Thin glass used in Samsung phones is also made by Schott. The screen gets the highest A+ rating in DisplayMate. The X Fold has two fingerprint scanners on the screen. It’s worth noting that these are not optical scanners, but ultrasonic.

Vivo said that the folding hinge for the display is the so-called “floating wing” hinge at the level used in airplanes. This hinge makes it possible to use the display at angles between 60 and 120 degrees.

At the heart of the Vivo X Fold is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. This processor is accompanied by 12 GB RAM. The phone has a 4600 mAh battery with 66 W fast charging support for the power it needs. This battery can be fully charged in just 37 minutes. It is worth noting that the phone has support for 50 W wireless charging and 10 W reverse wireless charging.

It’s safe to say that the Vivo X Fold is quite ambitious when it comes to the camera. The main camera of the smartphone is the 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 sensor. A 12-megapixel zoom camera, a 5x periscope zoom camera and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera complete the system. It’s also worth remembering that Vivo developed the phone’s camera mods in conjunction with Zeiss. It should be noted that the phone has a front-facing camera on both its internal and external screens.

On the Vivo X Fold’s large inner screen, users will be able to run two apps side by side. In addition, the floating windows can be leveraged for a more immersive multitasking experience.

The Vivo X Fold will be available first in China. The smartphone will take its place on the shelves in three color variants, black, blue and grey. The price tag of the X Fold says 8999 yuan.
