Google’s Chrome browser displays a “Not secure” label in the address bar of websites not using HTTPS. Apart from this, the browser has added the ability to customize the background of a New Tab page in Google Chrome without using any browser extension or addon. Let’s see how it’s done!
Change New Tab Page Background in Chrome
Luckily, Chrome offers a wide range of options here, including art, cityscapes, geometric shapes, landscapes, and more. You can spend some time and find the one you like best.
- Open a new tab in Chrome.
- Click it Personalize button.
- Go to Background tongue.
- Select a layout or theme for the background.
- Hit it Do button.
Previously there was no default option to do this. A user had to activate – Enable the use of local NTP from Google and Selecting the New Tab Page Background preferences This is no longer necessary now because Google allows you to do this directly. To get started, follow these instructions.
Launch Google Chrome browser and open a new tab.
At the bottom of the New Tab page, you will find the Personalize (visible as a pencil icon). Click the icon to open the Personalize this page the window.
Select a background for the page. A wide range of options are available including,
- Urban landscapes
- Geometric shapes
- solid colors
Once selected, press the Do button. Instantly, your dull, colorless background will change to your chosen pattern.
Similarly, if you want to customize the page color and theme, go to Color and theme and select the desired color.
When you are finished, press the Do button. If you want the page to refresh daily, toggle the switch to Refresh daily to At position. Your Chrome tab will refresh daily with a new background.
I hope it helped you!
