Facebook’s latest attempt to organize the News Feed for its users has resulted in the rollout of a new feature for its web interface – the Contextual Conversations chat tab. The new dialog tab sends responses to comments in a new pop-up window. It’s like separate conversation tabs used to chat in Facebook Messenger when the News Feed is open.

So, is Facebook desperately trying to fix a problem? I suppose not! Facebook offers a solution to this. It allows users to turn off or disable Facebook’s pop-up conversations tab feature through a simple setting. But before we cover that, let’s find out what was so special about this feature.

The pop-up chat tab feature is basically a pop-up that appears on the Facebook post you are following. Thus, it appears whenever there is a new activity made as a comment on the post. You don’t have to click on the notification to read it. It instantly displays below the pop-up window. While useful for granting instant access, it seems intrusive and irritating to many like me, as it ends up cluttering up my Facebook space.
