“Political speech matters” is what Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg believes in, and so Facebook has never agreed to limit political ads on your newspaper. Well, starting July 17, Facebook rolled out a new feature for US users where they can hide ads about political and social issues from their News Feed. Let’s learn to do this.

Disable political ads on Facebook

Go to Facebook and tap on the Menu button which you can see at the top right corner of your screen. For iOS users it will be in the lower right corner and for browsers it will again be in the upper right corner of your screen.

Of Menugo to Privacy settingsa Settings. “width=”352″ height=”500″ src=”

Scroll down and you will find the Ad preferences button, press it.

Scroll down and click Announcement topics.

Select “Social issues, elections or politics”

Click on ‘See less announcements on this topic’.

And you are done.

If you still see a political ad on your Facebook News Feed,

Tap the three dots in the upper right corner

In the pop-up menu, tap Hide ad.

Hide Political Ads on Instagram

Go to the menu in the upper right corner of your Instagram profile.

Tap the Settings button at the bottom.

Tap Announcements > Ad subject preferences

To select Social issues, elections or politics

save it

Not to mention that social media, and especially Facebook and Instagram, are currently spreading a lot of political misinformation online, which can mislead people. Glad to see that Facebook has finally decided to roll out this option.

If you too want to hide these ads from your Instagram feed and profile, follow the steps above and remove them.
