The term address bar in Google Chrome refers to the Omnibox. You may have noticed that every time you type something in the Omnibox, Google Chrome starts showing suggestions. These suggestions are a query feature that appears in the drop-down list and helps you find the search in a shortcut. It is basically derived from your web browsing history, search engine and bookmarks saved on your device. With this important feature, you can easily access the web page you open on a regular basis.

However, there are times when you need to remove a particular suggestion displayed by the Chrome browser. In such a case, it would become quite difficult to remove them. To do so, read this article and you will learn an easy way to remove suggestions from Chrome address bar using your mouse.

To remove the Chrome address bar suggestion, follow the suggestions below:

First open the Chrome browser.

Go to the address bar and enter the following code:


Once you are on the Google Chrome Flags page, you may notice a search box available at the top of the screen.

Using the search field, search for an indicator with the following name:

Look for the flag highlighted in bright yellow that remains at the top of the list, i.e. Transparency options for Omnibox suggestions.

This flag has the following description:

Shows an X button next to deletable omnibox suggestions. This helps to make the delete suggestions feature more visible. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android

This flag has currently been set to Fault fashion. It indicates that the flag is disabled at this time. So, to enable it, click on the respective drop-down menu and then toggle the default option to Enabled.

And finally, to apply the changes, click on the To throw back button.

That’s it. The Omnibox suggestion transparency options are now successfully enabled in your Google Chrome browser.

When the browser restarts, type something in the address bar.

If you hover your mouse pointer over the suggestion, you’ll see a small crosshair icon appear nearby. To remove/remove this suggestion, simply click on the cross icon.
