To make the most of Youtube, at least from our perspective, is to subscribe to your favorite channels. We have already explained how to subscribe to a YouTube channel, so we will not talk about it in this article. In fact, we will focus on how to unsubscribe when you are no longer satisfied with the content received.
Unsubscribe from a YouTube channel
Unsubscribing from a YouTube channel isn’t difficult, and to make it even easier, Google made sure to add several ways to get the job done. So as things stand, whatever the situation, deleting a channel from your favorites list will never be a stressful affair.
Keep in mind, though, that you’ll need to sign in to your YouTube account with your Google Account credentials before proceeding. Also, this article will assume that you are using a desktop/laptop computer and not a mobile device.
- Unsubscribe from channels landing page
- Unsubscribe from a recently posted video
- Unsubscribe from the subscription list
Let’s look at this from a more detailed point of view.
1]Unsubscribe from the channels homepage
Find the channel you want to subscribe to is not difficult. If you remember the name, just search for it in the YouTube search box. Or, you can look to the left of the YouTube homepage where you should see a list of all the channels you’ve subscribed to in the past.
Click on the one you want to remove and from the landing page click on the button that says Follower. YouTube will then ask for your confirmation, so be sure to click Unsubscribe to complete the task.
Right away, you should now be unsubscribed from the channel, which means there won’t be any updates on new videos in the future.
2]Unsubscribe from a recently posted video
Another way for users to remove a channel from their list is to do so from a new video’s page. So, imagine a situation where you are watching a video from the channel, but something happened in the video that you don’t like.

Just click on the Follower button which is under Share and save. The confirmation prompt should appear, so again tap Unsubscribe and that’s it.
3]Unsubscribe from the subscription list
OK, so there’s a button on the left side of YouTube that says Subscribe. It’s not the one with the list of channels, but rather the one that will take you to a section that shows all the new videos from the shuffled channels.
In this section, select Manage, and you should now see a list of all channels with the Subscriber button next to each. Again, click the button, wait for the confirmation box, hit unsubscribe, and watch the channel disappear from the list for good.
We should point out that after you unsubscribe from a channel, YouTube may recommend videos from that same channel from time to time.
